Our vision, values and aims were developed in consultation with children, families and staff. They reflect the principles contained in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Children’s Charter for young People in Glasgow’s Educational Establishments.
Our Vision at Budhill is to offer a happy, welcoming, safe, secure and stimulating environment in which the eagerness of children to learn is supported and developed. Parents, carers and families play a central role in the education and learning of their child.
Children are encouraged to play with, and learn from, their peers and staff. Carefully planned learning experiences, and opportunities, based on consultation with children and their families, are developed with the aim to enable each child to be successful, confident and enthusiastic.
Our values reflect the best of the communities in which the children live and grow, and are implicit in all that we teach and learn.
They are :- Tolerance, Teamwork, Co-operation, Friendship, Effort, Challenge, Enthusiasm, Care and Diversity.
At Budhill, our aim is to provide a high quality learning environment and experiences during which we listen to children, build on their enthusiasm to learn and encourage their desire to communicate and interact with their community.
We achieve this by:
- Respecting the learning needs of each child, and working with families to meet these needs.
- Continuing to develop our highly skilled staff team to meet the daily challenges offered by enthusiastic learners.
- Developing an environment where children feel safe, secure and happy to learn and where different cultures and diversity are celebrated.
- Involving children, parents, carers and staff in evaluating our progress and in planning our next steps.
- Good communication with families and other services supporting the children.
- Encouraging healthy life styles, respect for the environment, and promoting positivity.
